Part Time - Freight Handler

Position Overview: Responsible for transporting freight within the dock area, including loading, unloading, and securing cargo for trailers. Key Responsibilities Operate motorized and manual equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks for freight handling.Verify freight documentation for accuracy, including type, weight, and hazardous materials.Secure freight inside trailers using pallets, straps, or ropes, and repair damaged freight when needed.Complete required reports and documentation accurately.Assist customers with freight and documentation as necessary.Perform hostling duties if required, ensuring proper trailer movement.Comply with applicable laws, regulations, and company policies.Perform additional duties as assigned. Qualifications & Skills High school diploma or equivalent preferred.Must be at least 18 years old.Experience in warehousing, freight handling, or forklift operation preferred.Ability to perform basic math, lift and carry freight, and handle physical tasks regularly.Effective communication skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team.Previous dock or warehouse experience is advantageous. Working Conditions: Dock environment with exposure to weather, fumes, dust, and noise. Fast-paced, deadline-driven setting requiring frequent physical activity and interaction with personnel.
