Part Time - Freight Handler

Position Overview Transport freight within dock areas, moving cargo to and from trailers for loading and unloading. Key Responsibilities Handle freight using equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks.Verify freight documentation for accuracy, including type, weight, and hazardous materials.Secure freight inside trailers with tools like straps, ropes, and pallets.Repair or recoup damaged freight as needed.Complete required paperwork and assist customers with freight documentation.Perform hostling duties if necessary and ensure compliance with laws and company policies.Perform additional duties as required. Qualifications & Skills High school diploma or equivalent preferred; must be at least 18 years old.Experience in warehousing, freight handling, or forklift operation preferred.Ability to perform basic math, lift heavy freight, and operate various equipment.Strong communication skills, ability to work independently or in a team.Physical ability to lift and maneuver freight, bend, twist, and push/pull throughout shifts. Working Conditions: Dock environment with exposure to weather, fumes, noise, and dust. Fast-paced, deadline-driven setting requiring frequent contact with personnel. Flexibility in hours based on operational needs.
