Part Time - Freight Handler

Role Overview Transport freight within the dock area, ensuring proper handling and securing of shipments for loading and unloading. Key Responsibilities Operate equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks to move freight.Verify freight documentation for accuracy, including type, weight, and hazardous materials.Secure freight inside trailers using straps, ropes, or pallets, and repair damaged shipments as needed.Complete required reports and assist with freight documentation and customer inquiries.Perform hostling duties if required, adhering to safety and regulatory standards.Maintain compliance with laws, regulations, and company policies.Perform additional duties as assigned. Qualifications & Skills High school diploma or equivalent preferred.Must be at least 18 years old.Experience in warehousing, freight handling, or forklift operation preferred.Ability to perform basic math, lift and carry freight, and open trailers requiring physical effort.Strong communication skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team.Experience with dock or warehouse operations is a plus. Working Conditions: Dock environment with exposure to weather, fumes, dust, and noise. Fast-paced setting requiring frequent physical activity and interaction with personnel.
