Part Time - Freight Handler

Position Overview Transport freight within the dock area, moving loads to and from trailers for loading and unloading. Essential Functions Handle freight using motorized and manual equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks.Verify freight documentation for accuracy, including type, weight, and hazardous materials.Secure freight inside trailers with appropriate tools like straps, ropes, and pallets.Repair or recoup damaged freight when necessary.Complete required documentation and reports accurately.Assist customers with freight handling and documentation.Perform hostling duties if required.Adhere to all laws, regulations, and company policies.Perform additional duties as needed. Qualifications & Skills High school diploma or equivalent preferred.Must be at least 18 years old.Experience in warehousing, freight handling, or forklift operations is preferred.Ability to count, perform basic math, and communicate effectively.Physical ability to lift, carry, push, and pull freight, including trailer doors and dock plates.Ability to work independently or as part of a team.Previous dock or warehouse experience is a plus. Working Conditions: Dock environment with exposure to weather, fumes, dust, and noise. Fast-paced, deadline-driven setting requiring frequent movement and physical effort.
