Part Time - Freight Handler

Position Overview: Transport freight across dock areas to/from trailers for loading and unloading, ensuring proper handling, securing, and documentation. Responsibilities Include Using motorized and manual equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks to handle freight.Verifying freight documentation for accuracy, including type, weight, and hazardous materials.Securing freight inside trailers with appropriate tools like straps and pallets.Recouping or repairing damaged freight as needed.Completing required reports and assisting customers with freight documentation.Performing hostling duties if required and complying with all legal and company policies.Performing additional duties as assigned. Qualifications And Skills High school diploma or equivalent preferred; must be at least 18 years old.Experience in warehousing, freight handling, or forklift operations preferred.Ability to perform basic math, lift and carry freight, operate trailer doors, and work independently or in a team.Ability to work in a dock environment with varied weather conditions, noise, fumes, and dust.Strong communication skills and physical ability to lift and move heavy items regularly.
