Part Time - Freight Handler

Position Overview: This role involves transporting freight within a dock environment, using motorized and manual equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks. Responsibilities include verifying freight documentation, securing cargo inside trailers, repairing damaged freight, and assisting with freight documentation and customer interactions. The role may also require hostling duties and adherence to all safety regulations and company policies. Qualifications and Skills: Candidates should have a high school diploma or equivalent, be at least 18 years old, and possess prior experience in warehousing, freight handling, or forklift operations (preferred). Basic math, communication skills, physical ability to lift and handle freight, and the capacity to work independently or in a team are essential. Experience with dock or warehouse work is advantageous. Work Conditions: The environment is dock-based, with exposure to weather, fumes, dust, and noise. The role involves physical activity, including lifting and bending, in a fast-paced, deadline-driven setting with frequent contact with personnel. Flexibility in hours is required based on operational needs.
