Part Time - Deli Lead

About the role

Leading daily department operations in a retail store, ensuring staff training, staffing, and adherence to company standards and goals.

Responsibilities

• Manage inventory, ensuring product freshness and quality through proper ordering and control procedures.
• Validate received orders for accuracy, condition, and storage.
• Supervise team tasks including stocking, production, and product rotation, handling damaged items per guidelines.
• Maintain product knowledge, promotional awareness, and execute weekly plans.
• Support scheduling, labor control, and payroll management.
• Assist in staffing, training, performance management, and development of associates.
• Ensure a clean, attractive, and well-stocked department following safety, food safety, and cleanliness standards.
• Participate in meetings and support company initiatives to meet performance indicators.
• Perform additional duties as needed, including tasks in other departments.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent; retail experience preferred.
• Strong communication, organization, decision-making, and leadership skills.
• Knowledge of retail operations and management systems; proficiency in MS Office.
• Strategic planning and business acumen; suggestive selling knowledge preferred.
• Ability to communicate in Spanish is highly desirable.

Physical & Environment Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, stand and walk for extended periods, and work in varied temperatures with moderate noise.
