The Weekend Controls Technician is responsible for troubleshooting and repairing electrical, mechanical, and PLC-controlled production equipment to ensure optimal performance and reliability. Key duties include monitoring equipment for hazards or issues, using ladder logic programming (especially with Allen Bradley RS Logix 500 and 5000), maintaining backups of control programs, and documenting repairs and preventative maintenance via the work order system (EAM). The role involves diagnosing problems with electrical, electronic, pneumatic, and hydraulic components, performing basic motor troubleshooting on servo, DC, and induction motors, and setting up variable frequency drives and servo controls. The technician collaborates with maintenance teams, supports PLC troubleshooting, and evaluates new equipment performance. Qualifications include at least 2 years of relevant experience, an associate’s degree in a technical field (preferred), and the ability to obtain forklift and aerial platform licenses. Proficiency with enterprise asset management software and Microsoft Office is required. Skills needed are troubleshooting electrical/mechanical issues, PLC programming, reading digital multimeters, and working effectively with cross-disciplinary teams. The position requires working Friday to Sunday, 6:00am - 6:00pm, with training on day shifts prior to evening shifts.
