About the role
The Paraeducator (Special Education) position is responsible for providing support to students with special needs in a classroom setting.
Responsibilities
- Support students with health impairments or social/emotional behavior disabilities
- Work with teachers to implement individualized behavior intervention plans
- Provide one-on-one assistance to students to help them access learning opportunities
- Participate in the Achieve Program, which focuses on students needing behavioral support
Requirements
- A high school diploma or equivalent
- Experience working with individuals with special needs is preferred
- Ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff
- Knowledge of behavior management techniques
Qualifications
- Valid Washington State Driver’s License
- Current CPR and First Aid Certification
- Pass a background check
