About the role
The Paraeducator (Special Education) position is responsible for providing support to students with special education needs, including those with health impairments or social/emotional behavior disabilities. This role adheres to the Achieve Program guidelines, which focus on individualized support and behavior intervention plans.
Responsibilities
- Support students with special education needs in achieving academic goals
- Implement behavior intervention plans to help students manage their behaviors
- Work closely with teachers to provide targeted support to students
- Assist in maintaining a safe and inclusive learning environment
Requirements
- A high school diploma or equivalent
- Experience working with individuals with special needs is preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Qualifications
- Valid Washington State Driver’s License
- Passing score on a background check
- Current CPR certification
Skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively with diverse populations
- Knowledge of special education principles and practices
