About the role

The Paraeducator (Special Education) position is responsible for providing support to students with special education needs, including those with health impairments or social/emotional behavior disabilities. This role adheres to the Achieve Program guidelines, which focus on individualized support and behavior intervention plans.

Responsibilities

  • Support students with special education needs in achieving academic goals
  • Implement behavior intervention plans to help students manage their behaviors
  • Work closely with teachers to provide targeted support to students
  • Assist in maintaining a safe and inclusive learning environment

Requirements

  • A high school diploma or equivalent
  • Experience working with individuals with special needs is preferred
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Qualifications

  • Valid Washington State Driver’s License
  • Passing score on a background check
  • Current CPR certification

Skills

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse populations
  • Knowledge of special education principles and practices
