About the role

The Paraeducator (Special Education) position is responsible for providing support to students with special education needs in a variety of settings within Everett Public Schools. This role also includes supporting students with behavior support needs through the Achieve Program.

Responsibilities

  • Support students with special education needs in various classroom settings.
  • Provide behavior support to students enrolled in the Achieve Program.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers and other staff to ensure students receive necessary support.
  • Assist in maintaining a safe and inclusive learning environment.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid Washington State Driver’s License.
  • Experience working with students with special needs preferred.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues.

Qualifications

  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of special education principles and practices.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.

Skills

  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to handle challenging situations calmly and professionally.
  • Basic computer skills.

Salary schedule: 6.5 hours per day, 195 days per year.
