About the role

Two positions available for Behavior Support Paraeducators. One position works 6.5 hours per day, one 7.0 hours per day. Both positions include busing responsibilities.

Responsibilities

  • Support students with health impairments or social/emotional behavior disabilities.
  • Work individually with students to address their behavioral needs.
  • Implement Functional Behavior Assessments and Behavior Intervention Plans.
  • Participate in the Achieve Program, which is designed for students needing support in behavioral controls.
  • Provide individualized instruction and support within a structured classroom environment.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience working with students with special needs.
  • Valid Washington State driver’s license and good driving record.
  • Ability to pass background checks and drug screens.
  • Knowledge of special education laws and regulations.

Qualifications

  • Strong communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Patience and empathy.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.

Skills

  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Basic computer literacy.
