About the role
The Paraeducator (Special Education) position is responsible for providing support to students with special education needs, including those with health impairments or social/emotional behavior disabilities.
Responsibilities
- Support students with individualized plans to improve their academic and behavioral outcomes.
- Work closely with teachers to implement behavior intervention plans and functional behavior assessments.
- Assist in creating and maintaining a safe and inclusive learning environment.
- Participate in professional development activities to enhance skills in supporting students with special needs.
Requirements
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience working with individuals with special needs is preferred but not required.
- Ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff.
- Valid Washington State Driver’s License.

- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Knowledge of behavior management strategies and positive reinforcement techniques.

Salary schedule: 6.75 hours/day, 195 days/year.
