Paraeducator - 1:1 Life Skills / Behavior Support / Bus Rider: Special Education (2026-27)

Everett Public Schools offers multiple paraeducator positions supporting special education programs across various student needs and settings.

About the Role

Paraeducators provide instructional and behavioral support to students with disabilities in the following programs:

• Developmental Preschool: For students with developmental delays and moderate to severe cognitive, academic, and adaptive delays who may require communication and/or motor therapies prior to entering kindergarten.
• Developmental Kindergarten: For students with developmental delays and moderate to severe cognitive, academic, and adaptive delays, accessing pre-kindergarten or kindergarten curriculum at a modified pace.
• Resource Program: For students with Specific Learning Disabilities (SLD), health impairments, or mild social/emotional behavioral deficits, providing specially designed instruction to support success in general education classrooms.
• Extended Resource Program: For students with mild to moderate delays in intellectual functioning and adaptive behavior, including transportation support as needed.
• Life Skills Program: For students with significant cognitive and academic delays requiring a functional, life-skills approach to instruction, including transportation support.
• Achieve Program: Supports students with health impairments or social/emotional behavior disabilities through individualized Functional Behavior Assessments and Behavior Intervention Plans.
• GOAL (Gaining Ownership of Adult Lives) Transition Program (18-21): A transition program linking high school to adult life, focusing on self-reliance and independence for students who have completed graduation requirements in Extended Resource Programs.
• STRIVE (Students Transitioning Responsibly into Vocational Experiences) Transition Program (18-21): Similar to GOAL, designed for students transitioning from Life Skills Programs to support vocational and independent living skills.
