Paraeducator - 1:1 Behavior Support / Life Skills: Special Education (2026-27)
About the role
The Paraeducator (Special Education) position is designed to support students with special education needs in a variety of settings within Everett Public Schools. This role also includes the Paraeducator- Behavior Support position.
Responsibilities
- Support students with special education needs in various classroom and non-classroom settings.
- Assist in implementing individualized education plans (IEPs).
- Provide behavioral support to students as needed.
- Participate in team meetings and collaborate with teachers and other staff members.
Requirements
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities or special needs.
- Valid Washington State Driver’s License.
- Ability to pass a background check.

- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Knowledge of special education principles and practices.
Skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage student behavior effectively.
- Proficient in using technology for instructional purposes.

Life Skills Program
The Life Skills Program is a service for students with significant cognitive and academic delays, existing concurrently with deficits in adaptive behavior. Students receive transportation from their homes to the schools.
