About the role

The Paraeducator (Special Education) position at Everett Public Schools is responsible for providing support to students with special needs in a variety of settings within the district.

Responsibilities

  • Support students with special education needs in accordance with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
  • Assist teachers in classroom management and instructional support.
  • Provide one-on-one assistance to students during class and extracurricular activities.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.
  • Collaborate with parents and guardians to ensure effective communication and support for student success.

Requirements

  • A high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid Washington State Driver’s License.
  • Experience working with individuals with special needs preferred.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
  • Pass a background check and fingerprinting.

Qualifications

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of special education principles and practices.
  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office.

Skills

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
  • Positive attitude and ability to work with diverse populations.

Pay

Salary schedule: 6.5 hours per day, 195 days per year.
