Paraeducator - Strive Classroom: Special Education (2026-27)
About the role
The Paraeducator (Special Education) position is responsible for providing support to students with special needs in a variety of educational settings.
Responsibilities
- Support students with special education needs in the classroom and during extracurricular activities.
- Assist in implementing individualized education plans (IEPs).
- Provide supervision and guidance to students as directed by teachers and administrators.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.
Requirements
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience working with individuals with special needs is preferred but not required.
- Valid Washington State driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
Qualifications
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Knowledge of special education principles and practices.
Skills
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Pay
The salary schedule is 6.5 hours per day, 195 days per year.

STRIVE is a transitional program for students with special needs, offering a sequence of school-based experiences and training to help them become more self-reliant and independent.
