About the role

The Paraeducator (Special Education) position involves assisting Special Education teachers in providing support to students within the classroom setting.

Responsibilities

  • Support students with special education needs
  • Assist in implementing lesson plans and activities
  • Provide behavioral support and intervention
  • Work closely with teachers and parents to monitor student progress
  • Participate in professional development opportunities

Requirements

  • A high school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid Washington State Driver’s License
  • Experience working with individuals with special needs preferred
  • Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends

Qualifications

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

Skills

  • Knowledge of special education curriculum and standards
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Good organizational and time management skills

Benefits Information

Students Transitioning Responsibly into Vocational Experiences (STRIVE) is an 18-21 Transition Program designed to help students with special needs become more self-reliant and independent.

Pay

The salary schedule is 6.5 hours per day, 195 days per year.
