Occupational Health & Safety Specialist

About the role

We are seeking an Occupational Health & Safety Specialist to develop, implement, and oversee workplace safety programs, ensuring OSHA compliance and adherence to safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and oversee workplace safety programs
• Ensure OSHA compliance and adherence to safety standards
• Conduct safety inspections, audits, and risk assessments
• Investigate incidents and implement corrective actions
• Manage workers' compensation and coordinate return-to-work programs
• Support emergency response planning
• Collaborate with HR and production teams to deliver safety training
• Monitor workplace hazards such as dust, noise, and ergonomics
• Ensure proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
• Supervise Safety & Sanitation Technicians
• Maintain regulatory compliance
• Support environmental health initiatives

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or related field
• 3–5 years of manufacturing safety experience
• Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
• Ability to conduct investigations and implement corrective measures

Preferred qualifications

• Supervisory experience
• Proficiency in recordkeeping
