Occupational Health & Safety Specialist

About the role

Seeking an experienced Safety Specialist to develop, implement, and maintain workplace safety programs, ensuring OSHA compliance and adherence to safety regulations.

Responsibilities

• Conduct safety inspections, audits, and risk assessments.
• Investigate incidents and lead root cause analyses.
• Manage workers' compensation claims.
• Coordinate emergency response drills.
• Monitor hazards such as dust, air quality, and noise.
• Administer PPE programs.
• Oversee safety training in collaboration with HR.
• Supervise Safety & Sanitation Technicians and ensure safety standards are met in dust management and sanitation activities.
• Partner with production and environmental teams to support overall EHS initiatives.
• Serve as the primary safety resource for production staff, providing technical guidance and best practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or related field.
• 3–5 years of safety experience in manufacturing or industrial settings.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and workers' compensation.
• Leadership experience preferred.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to conduct investigations and implement corrective actions.
• Proficient in documentation and recordkeeping.
• Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to dust, noise, and varying temperatures.
• Must pass background check and drug screening.
