About the role
We are seeking a proactive Occupational Health & Safety Specialist to develop, implement, and maintain workplace safety programs, ensuring OSHA compliance and adherence to safety regulations.
Responsibilities
- Conducting safety inspections, audits, and risk assessments
- Investigating incidents and managing workers' compensation claims
- Coordinating emergency response drills
- Monitoring workplace hazards such as dust, noise, and air quality
- Administering PPE programs
- Delivering OSHA-compliant safety training in collaboration with Human Resources
- Supervising Safety & Sanitation Technicians
- Supporting environmental initiatives
- Serving as the primary safety resource for production teams by providing technical guidance and best safety practices
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or related field
- 3-5 years of experience in manufacturing or industrial settings
- Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations
- Workers' compensation knowledge
- Supervisory experience (preferred)
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Strong documentation and recordkeeping abilities
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to dust, noise, and moving equipment
