About the role
MercyOne OB Hospitalist- Mason City joins a team of 1 full-time, 1 part-time, and 3 per diem OB Hospitalists, 1 OBGYN, 2 midwives, and 4 APPs, handling 500-600 births annually. The schedule is very flexible, with 7 24-hour shifts per month, and the Level II NICU is staffed 24/7 by Pediatric Hospitalists and NICU Nurses with access to an on-site blood bank. There's a teaching opportunity with FM Residents and Medical Students in L&D 24/7, and in-house specialists are available for consultation/collaboration.
Shift Description
MercyOne North Iowa Medical Center, a 342-bed regional referral teaching hospital, is part of a regional health system covering 14 counties. It's located in Mason City, Iowa, with a population of approximately 30,000. The hospital is easily accessible to all specialists, labs, radiology, pharmacies, and other services. It's also home to post-graduate education programs, including Family Medicine and Internal Medicine Residency Programs, Cardiology Fellowship, and Palliative Care Fellowship.

Qualifications
- Graduate of a medical/osteopathic medical school
- Demonstrated competency as a physician by completion of an appropriate residency program; board certified or board eligible
- Able to obtain Mercy Medical Center-North Iowa medical staff privileges
- Above average communication skills
- Ability to work with a team
- Licensed or eligible for State of Iowa physician license; Iowa Controlled Substance Certificate and Federal DEA Certificate
