About the role

The Commercial and Specialty Banking Relationship Manager I position requires connecting with people quickly in an outgoing, friendly manner. Key responsibilities include reviewing clients' credit needs, designing solutions, negotiating credit terms, managing existing portfolios, monitoring compliance, and providing financial advice.

Responsibilities

  • Review clients' credit needs and design solutions
  • Negotiate credit terms and loan repayment methods
  • Manage existing portfolio of clients and monitor compliance
  • Update financials, maintain insurance on bank collateral, and review loans for accurate grades
  • Provide financial advice and counsel to clients and prospective clients
  • Review loan documents to ensure compliance with the Loan Policy and banking laws and regulations
  • Maintain compliance with Federal and State regulations, including laws, rules, and regulations dealing with safety and soundness, consumer protection, and privacy and non-discrimination
  • Build a great rapport with clients and fellow associates
  • Treat others with respect and consideration regardless of their status or position

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance or related field or equivalent work experience
  • 7+ years of relevant experience
  • Strong business development skills and understanding of credit and business finance
  • Good managerial, communication, and sales skills
  • Strong networking skills and participation in networking events
  • Competent in using standard office equipment and software
  • Solid knowledge of banking policies, regulations, and compliance issues
  • Solid ability to analyze financial statements and basic accounting principles
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build peer and/or team cohesiveness
  • Self-directed and motivated to accomplish tasks, meet objectives, and commit to timelines
  • Strong oral and written communication skills

Desired Qualifications

  • MBA or master’s degree in business, finance or related field or equivalent work experience
  • 5+ years of Commercial or Specialty experience

Skills and Abilities

Work Environment

The office setting is traditional with standard hours. Associates may need to work at a rapid pace for long periods of time (typically no longer than 8 hours) and may be required to work extended hours as necessary. Associates may need to travel as needed.
