About the role
The Commercial and Specialty Banking Relationship Manager II position requires connecting with people quickly in an outgoing, friendly manner. Key responsibilities include reviewing clients' credit needs, designing solutions, negotiating credit terms, managing existing portfolios, monitoring compliance, and cross-selling banking products.
Responsibilities
- Review clients' credit needs and design solutions
- Negotiate credit terms and loan repayment methods
- Manage existing portfolio of clients and monitor compliance
- Update financials, maintain insurance on bank collateral, and review loans for accurate grades
- Provide financial advice and counsel to clients and prospective clients
- Review loan documents to ensure compliance with the Loan Policy and banking laws and regulations
- Maintain compliance with Federal and State regulations, including safety and soundness, consumer protection, and privacy and non-discrimination laws
- Build rapport with clients and fellow associates, treating everyone with respect and consideration
- Work collaboratively with management to approach change conservatively
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or related field or equivalent work experience
- 7+ years of relevant experience
- Good managerial, communication, and sales skills
- Strong networking skills and participation in networking events
- Competent in using standard office equipment and software
- Strong business development skills and understanding of credit and business finance
- Strong communication and sales skills
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build cohesiveness among peers and teams
- Ability to work at a rapid pace for long periods of time and to travel as necessary
Desired Qualifications
- MBA or master’s degree in business, finance, or related field or equivalent work experience
- 7+ years of Commercial or Specialty experience
- 7+ years of commercial credit experience
- Completed formal credit training program
Skills and Abilities
- Strong business development skills and understanding of credit and business finance
- Strong networking skills and participation in networking events
- Competent in operating standard office equipment and software
- Knowledge of banking policies, regulations, and compliance issues
- Solid knowledge of basic accounting principles
- Ability to analyze financial statements
