About the role

The Commercial and Specialty Banking Relationship Manager I position requires connecting with people quickly in an outgoing, friendly manner. Key responsibilities include reviewing clients' credit needs, designing solutions, negotiating credit terms, managing the portfolio, and providing financial advice.

Responsibilities

  • Review clients' credit needs and design solutions
  • Negotiate credit terms and loan repayment methods
  • Manage existing portfolio of clients and monitor compliance with credit standards
  • Update financials, maintain insurance on bank collateral, and review loans for accurate grades
  • Provide financial advice and counsel to clients and prospective clients
  • Review loan documents to ensure compliance with the Loan Policy and banking laws and regulations
  • Maintain compliance with Federal and State regulations, including laws, rules, and regulations dealing with safety and soundness, consumer protection, and privacy and non-discrimination
  • Build rapport with clients and fellow associates, treating everyone with respect and consideration
  • Work with management to approach change conservatively

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance or related field or equivalent work experience
  • 7+ years of relevant experience
  • Good managerial, communication, and sales skills
  • Strong business development skills and understanding of credit and business finance
  • Strong networking skills and participation in networking events
  • Competent in using standard office equipment and software
  • Competent in banking policies, regulations, and compliance issues
  • Strong knowledge of basic accounting principles
  • Ability to analyze financial statements
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build peer and/or team cohesiveness
  • Valid driver’s license

Desired Qualifications

  • MBA or master’s degree in business, finance or related field or equivalent work experience
  • 5+ years of Commercial or Specialty experience

  • Competent in the use of standard office software
  • Strong knowledge of banking policies, regulations, and compliance issues

  • Ability to grasp, push, pull, lift, bend, raise and hold hands and arms overhead

  • Ability to work extended hours to the extent necessary
