Medical Technologist MT or Medical Lab Technician MLT- Laboratory

About the role

This position is a non-exempt role within the Clinical Labs department. It involves performing analyses on biological specimens and participating in operational support activities to maintain and optimize testing capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Performs analyses on biological specimens, such as blood and urine, to aid healthcare providers in diagnosis and treatment of patients.
• Participates in operational support activities necessary to maintain and optimize testing capabilities.

Qualifications

• Baccalaureate Degree in Medical Technology (MT), Medical Laboratory Science (MLS), or Clinical Laboratory Science (CLS).
• Associate’s degree from an accredited Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) program or U.S. military Medical Laboratory-training program.
• An HEW certificate may be substituted for the specified degree.

Skills

• Experience working in a medical field.
• Moderate to advanced computer skills.
• Good written and oral communications skills.
• The ability to prioritize work, manage time wisely, and adjust to changes in work volumes and projects.
• Preferred: Phlebotomy.
• Willingness to travel to other MCHS locations for assignments as needed.

• International/foreign trained applicants must provide a detailed equivalency evaluation from an organization listed as a member of the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES) or the Association of International Credential Evaluators, Inc. (AICE).

Pay Range

• $32.43 - $48.66 for MT
• $26.52-$39.32 per hour for MLT

Schedule

• Full-time
• Primarily day shift with start times of 6 AM, 7 AM, and 8 AM.
• Flexibility to cover evening shifts.
• Every 3rd weekend rotation.
• Flexibility to work 8 or 12 hour weekend shifts with dayshift, evening shift, and overnight hours available.

Mayo Clinic locations span across multiple sites including Phoenix/Scottsdale, Arizona, Jacksonville, Florida, Rochester, Minnesota, and Mayo Clinic Health System campuses throughout Midwestern communities, and international locations.
