Medical Technologist MT or Medical Lab Technician MLT- Laboratory

About the role

This position is a non-exempt role within the Clinical Labs department at Mayo Clinic. It involves performing analyses on biological specimens and participating in operational support activities to maintain and optimize testing capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Performs analyses on biological specimens, such as blood and urine, to aid healthcare providers in diagnosing and treating patients.
• Participates in operational support activities necessary to maintain and optimize testing capabilities.

Qualifications

• Baccalaureate Degree in Medical Technology (MT), Medical Laboratory Science (MLS), or Clinical Laboratory Science (CLS).
• Associate’s degree from an accredited Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) program or U.S. military Medical Laboratory-training program.
• HEW certificate may be substituted for the specified degree.

Skills

• Experience working in a medical field.
• Moderate to advanced computer skills.
• Good written and oral communications skills.
• The ability to prioritize work, manage time wisely, and adjust to changes in work volumes and projects.
• Preferred: Phlebotomy.

Pay and Schedule

• Pay Range: $32.43 - $48.66 for MT and $26.52-$39.32 per hour for MLT.
• Schedule: Full Time, Weekdays: Variable shifts available, determined at time of hire, Every 3rd Weekend, Every 3rd Holiday.
