About the role
Supports patient care and clinic operations by assisting in patient examination and treatment under physician supervision. Maintains patient flow, documents medical history, vital signs, medications, and updates electronic medical records (EMR). Prepares patient charts, retrieves test results, and ensures comprehensive medical documentation.
Responsibilities
- Refill and authorize medications, manage medication samples, and dispose of expired medications.
- Prepare exam rooms, order supplies, and complete patient assistance paperwork.
- Gather medical information, respond to patient communications, and manage scheduling and pre-certifications.
- Operate diagnostic equipment such as EKGs, perform phlebotomy, and complete other clinical tasks as assigned.
- Ensure a safe, confidential, and compliant environment, adhering to legal and quality standards.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate degree or certification preferred.
- 2-5 years of relevant experience, with clinical skills such as phlebotomy and EKG preferred.
- Strong computer skills (EMR, scheduling systems) and excellent interpersonal skills.
- Certified/Registered Medical Assistant and BLS certification preferred.
