About the Role
Provides clinical support by assisting in patient examination and treatment under physician supervision.
Responsibilities
- Maintaining patient flow and documenting vital signs, medical history, medications, and updating electronic medical records (EMR).
- Preparing patient charts, reviewing diagnostic results, and ensuring all necessary information is accessible for physicians.
- Refilling medications, obtaining prior authorizations, and managing medication samples and supplies.
- Gathering medical information from patients, responding to communications, and managing work queues in EMR/system.
- Operating diagnostic equipment like EKGs and performing clinical tasks such as phlebotomy and cast removal.
- Scheduling appointments, checking patients in/out, completing pre-certifications, and ensuring a safe, confidential environment.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate Degree or Certified Medical Assistant preferred.
- 2-5 years relevant experience, especially in diverse care settings.
- Proficiency in computer systems, EMR, and scheduling software.
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate respectfully with staff and patients.
- Clinical skills like phlebotomy and EKGs are highly preferred.
- Certified/Registered Medical Assistant preferred; BLS certification required.
