About the Role
This position provides clinical support by assisting in patient examinations, managing patient flow, and maintaining accurate medical records under physician supervision.
Responsibilities
- Document review of systems, vital signs, medical, social, and family history updates, and medication management in EMR.
- Prepare and review patient charts, obtain medical records, and act as Super User for EMR systems.
- Refill medications, coordinate pre-authorizations, and manage medication samples and disposals.
- Set up treatment rooms, order supplies, and assist with patient preparations.
- Collect medical information, respond to patient communications, and manage work queues within practice systems.
- Operate diagnostic equipment such as EKGs and perform clinical tasks like phlebotomy and cast removal.
- Ensure a safe, confidential, and compliant work environment while supporting quality care and patient experience.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate Degree or Certified Medical Assistant preferred.
- 2-5 years of relevant medical assisting experience, with diverse clinical background preferred.
- Strong computer skills (Microsoft Outlook, Excel, EMR) and excellent communication skills.
- Willingness to travel between offices as needed.
Skills
- Preferred clinical skills include phlebotomy, EKG, stitches removal, and splinting.
- Certified/Registered Medical Assistant preferred; BLS certification required.
