About the Role

A Medical Assistant responsible for supporting patient care under physician supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain patient flow and document review of systems, vital signs, medical, social, and family history in EMR.
  • Prepare patient charts, ensure all diagnostic and medical records are accessible, and act as Super User for EMR if needed.
  • Manage medication refills, pre-authorizations, and medication inventory, including disposal of expired drugs.
  • Set up exam rooms, order supplies, and assist with patient assistance paperwork.
  • Gather medical information, respond to patient communications, and coordinate workflows in EMR and practice management systems.
  • Operate diagnostic equipment like EKGs and perform clinical tasks such as phlebotomy and cast removal.
  • Ensure a safe, confidential, and compliant work environment, supporting quality measures and patient experience.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; Associate degree or Medical Assistant certification preferred.
  • 2-5 years of relevant experience, with clinical skills like phlebotomy and EKG preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, EMR, and scheduling systems.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work respectfully with colleagues and patients.
  • Certification in BLS required; Certified/Registered MA preferred.
  • Willingness to travel between offices as needed.
