Primary Duties & Responsibilities
- Working closely with the Executive Director, the Marketing & Communications Manager will create and implement the strategy for all communications, website, public relations, collateral, and events to consistently articulate and brand the Marion Institute's Mission.
- Create and distribute MI and programmatic e-newsletters (research, content gathering, copywriting, production, posting).
- Compose, edit and manage social media content, for the organization as a whole, as well as individual programs, as needed (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, and YouTube).
- Manage website to reflect current work and events (compose, edit, and post).
- Marketing and Communications: With Executive Director, implement and maintain marketing and communications plans that support the long-term strategic vision of the organization.
- Preserve the overall look, feel and meaning of the MI brand, mission and identity.
- Design and produce MI promotional materials (brochures, mailers, postcards, annual reports, business cards, etc.), collaborating with external vendors and publishers, as needed.
- Manage public relations for the organization as a whole, as well as individual programs, as needed (targeted e-newsletters, press releases to local, regional and national print, radio and TV).
- Serve as a member of the MI Development Committee to collaborate on fundraising strategies, both day-to-day as well as special campaigns, events, mailings and appeals.
- Collaborate with MI Team to develop and implement plans and logistics for fundraisers, and in-person and virtual community events.
- Design, brand, and lead all outreach for events.
- Lead and oversee events in conjunction with MI development team.
- Occasional night and weekend work is required.
Requirements & Skills

- 3+ years Of Professional Marketing And/or Communications Experience Required.
- Social media management experience in a professional setting (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, Twitter/X).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
- Email marketing experience.
- Experience maintaining website content.
- Ability to travel by personal automobile to events and meetings.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with graphics programs such as Canva and Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, and/or Photoshop).
- Familiarity with WordPress web content management.
- Experience with event planning.
- Professional experience in a non-profit setting.
- Knowledge and/or experience with Google Ads (Google AdWords).
Additional Details
This is an in-person full-time (40 hour per week) salaried position, exempt from overtime pay. The MI offers a generous and competitive benefit package that includes health insurance, dental insurance, life & long term disability insurance, 403B and Roth IRA retirement plans, an employee wellness reimbursement, paid sick time, and accrued paid vacation time. The annual salary range is $55,000 - $65,000 per year, based on experience.
