Maintenance Training and Implementation Program Manager

About the role

This position provides training for employees within the Maintenance division, including Helena headquarters and the five districts across the state.

Responsibilities

  • Conducts needs assessments
  • Identifies sources/content for training
  • Reviews Requests for Proposals (RFPs) for training
  • Administers contracts for training by consultants
  • Develops training materials
  • Teaches classes
  • Manages training budgets
  • Oversight of MDT’s Entry Level Drivers Training program
  • Setting up and providing training for both internal employees and the general public

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Organizational Development, Business or Public Administration, Communications, Engineering or a related field and 3 years of experience in education including: instruction, developing education programs, group facilitation and conference coordination.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience driving a commercial motor vehicle (CMV) requiring a CDL of the same (or higher) class and/or the same endorsement; or a minimum of 2 years of experience as a behind-the-wheel CMV instructor.
  • Valid Montana Commercial Operators License (Class A, Type II) with no restrictions, a tank endorsement and a valid Medical Examiner’s Certificate (MEC).

Pay

The advertised salary includes the $1.00 increase passed by the 2025 MT State Legislature regarding the state pay plan effective July 1, 2026.
