Legal Administrative Assistant
About the Role
Faegre Drinker has an opportunity for a Legal Administrative Assistant to work with our Business Litigation practice group in our Florham Park office. You will be part of a dynamic team providing a full range of legal administrative support in a timely and efficient manner. This position will collaborate with talented individuals who share a passion for delivering great work in the best interest of our clients.
Responsibilities
- Assist with state and federal e-filing
- Handle contact with clients and external professionals
- Prepare legal documents and correspondence
- Assemble and file documents electronically
- Enter time on behalf of assigned timekeepers, process payment requests, and coordinate the client billing process
- Maintain client files and contact information
- Schedule meetings, conference calls, depositions, court hearings, and travel arrangements
- Perform other administrative tasks, as assigned
Requirements
- 15+ years of legal administrative experience; experience in business litigation strongly preferred
- Minimum of high school graduation; business school or related professional legal secretarial degree preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook and Word

- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively in a virtual environment (e.g., via phone, web/videoconference)
- Ability to concentrate on tasks, make decisions, and work calmly and effectively in a high-pressure, deadline-oriented environment
- Demonstrated ability to use good judgment in taking initiative while asking for direction or clarification and consulting others, as appropriate

Pay
The anticipated initial hourly rate for this position is $38.72–$44.06/hour based on a 37.5-hour workweek. Actual initial hourly rate may vary above or below this range and will be based on relevant skills, training, experience, and other job-related factors, including location, consistent with applicable law. This is a non-exempt role paid on an hourly basis.
