Lecturer of Sociology – School of Behavioral and Social Sciences (Continuous Recruitment)

About the role

The position is a Lecturer in the School of Behavioral and Social Sciences at UW-Stevens Point. Applications are accepted for future part-time or full-time lecturer opportunities.

Responsibilities

• Facilitates classroom, online, and/or laboratory instruction for one or more courses.
• Assesses student performance.
• Develops instructional design and curriculum relevant to a course of instruction.
• Serves as an initial point of contact for students as it relates to specific course or series content and expectations.

Requirements

• Minimum of a master's degree in sociology from an accredited college or university.
• Experience with college level instruction.
• Ability to effectively instruct and engage with a wide range of students, encompassing diverse backgrounds, learning styles, and abilities.

Qualifications

• Earned doctorate in sociology from an accredited college or university.
• ABD considered.
• Demonstrated commitment to reflective teaching practices.
• Experience with teaching in multiple modalities, such as in-person, online, and hybrid.
