Associate Lecturer/Lecturer/Senior Lecturer of Social Work – School of Behavioral and Social Sciences (Continuous Recruitment)
This is a continuous recruitment posting to build a pool of candidates for future part-time associate lecturer/lecturer/senior lecturer opportunities in social work. Applications will remain on file and may be considered for openings as they arise. Teaching assignments are made on a per-course, per-semester basis and do not guarantee future assignments. Teaching load varies between 1–12 credits per semester. While primarily on-site, partially remote and fully remote opportunities may be available.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the initial point of contact for students regarding course content and expectations
- Develop instructional design and curriculum relevant to assigned courses
- Facilitate classroom, online, and/or laboratory instruction for one or more courses
- Assess student performance
About the Department
The UW-Stevens Point Department of Sociology and Social Work has 13 full-time teaching faculty and staff (6 in Sociology and 7 in Social Work), approximately 165 undergraduate social work majors, and approximately 150 undergraduate sociology majors in both face-to-face and online program options. The department also offers robust minors in Criminal Justice and Substance Use and Addiction Studies. Committed to social justice and applied learning, the department emphasizes quality teaching and learning experiences, undergraduate research, community-based practicums, and regional service. It is expanding its strong undergraduate foundation to develop a Master of Social Work program.

Requirements
- MSW/MSSW from a CSWE-accredited program
- At least two years of post-master’s social work practice experience
- Evidence of a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion
- Strong organizational and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience teaching at the university level
- Experience with online teaching and learning
