This is a continuous recruitment for part-time associate lecturer/lecturer/senior lecturer positions. Applications are accepted on an ongoing basis to build a pool of candidates for future openings. Teaching assignments are made on a per-course, per-semester basis and do not guarantee future assignments. Teaching load ranges from 1–12 credits per semester. While primarily on-site, partially remote and fully remote opportunities may be available.

Responsibilities

  • Develop instructional design and curriculum relevant to assigned courses.
  • Serve as the initial point of contact for students regarding course content and expectations.
  • Facilitate classroom, online, and/or laboratory instruction for one or more courses.
  • Assess student performance.

About the Department

The Political Science department at UW-Stevens Point consists of 4 full-time faculty members and approximately 80 undergraduate majors. The department offers robust minors in Political Science, Law and Policy, and Peace Studies. Coursework includes American politics, global affairs, constitutional law, environmental policy, foreign policy, gender and minority group politics, and public policy analysis. The department emphasizes quality teaching, undergraduate research, community-based practicums, and regional service.

Qualifications

Required

  • Master’s degree in Political Science from an accredited college or university.
  • Experience with college-level instruction.
  • Ability to effectively instruct and engage students from diverse backgrounds, learning styles, and abilities.

Preferred

  • Earned doctorate in Political Science from an accredited college or university (ABD considered).
  • Demonstrated commitment to reflective teaching practices.
  • Experience teaching in multiple modalities (in-person, online, hybrid).
