Labor & Employment ERISA Staff Attorney (3+ years) - Chicago

About the Role

Seyfarth Shaw LLP, an international law firm with over 1000 attorneys, has an exciting opportunity for a Labor & Employment Staff Attorney (ERISA) with 3 or more years of increasingly responsible experience in employment, commercial, or insurance litigation. Candidates should have familiarity with federal court practice.

Responsibilities

• Handle a high-volume practice including file review
• Prepare case analysis memoranda and pleadings
• Attend routine court hearings, mediation, or conciliation meetings
• Negotiate settlement agreements
• Work on interesting, challenging, and groundbreaking cases in collaboration with senior attorneys

Requirements

• 3+ years of increasingly responsible experience in employment, commercial, or insurance litigation
• Familiarity with federal court practice
• Extensive writing experience
• Excellent academic credentials and solid work ethic
• Admission to the Illinois bar or the ability to waive in

Pay

The salary range for this role is $130,000 to $140,000. An employee’s pay within the salary range will be based on numerous factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, experience, skills, and business or organizational needs.
