Tort, Insurance & Environmental Staff Attorney (2-4 years) - Chicago, IL

About the role

Lathrop GPM is actively seeking a staff attorney with 2-4 years’ experience in product liability defense to join our growing Tort Insurance & Environmental practice group in our Chicago office.

Responsibilities

• Provide legal advice and representation in product liability defense cases
• Prepare and present legal arguments in depositions and court appearances
• Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement litigation strategies
• Conduct legal research and prepare legal documents
• Communicate effectively with clients and opposing counsel

Requirements

• J.D. from an accredited law school
• Active Illinois law license (Missouri law license a plus)
• In good standing
• Strong academic credentials
• Strong research, writing, and analytical abilities
• Excellent client service skills
• Outstanding interpersonal and problem-solving skills
• The ability to work in a collaborative environment

Qualifications

• Deposition and court appearance experience is ideal but not required

Pay

The current anticipated salary range is $110,000 to $120,000 for 1600 billable hours per year. Actual initial salary may be above or below the identified ranges and will be based on relevant skills, training, experience, and other job-related factors consistent with applicable law.
