About the role

Cooley LLP seeks an Employment & Labor Attorney with 1-3 years of experience to join their fast-paced practice group in Reston, VA or Washington, DC.

Responsibilities

  • Engage in comprehensive employment counseling focusing on statutory and regulatory compliance.
  • Prepare and review executive employment and separation agreements.
  • Assist with employment aspects of mergers and acquisitions (M&A).
  • Litigation experience is preferred but not required.

Requirements

  • Broad experience in employment law.
  • Strong academic background.
  • Effective communication skills.

Qualifications

  • One to three years of relevant legal experience.
  • Experience with employment counseling and statutory/regulatory compliance.
  • Knowledge of executive employment and separation agreements.
  • Understanding of employment dimensions in M&A transactions.

Pay

The expected annual pay range for this position is $225,000 - $260,000. Final offer amount will be determined based on geographic location, experience, and skillset of the candidate.
