About the role
Cooley LLP has an opportunity available to work with the Employment and Labor practice group in our San Diego, Los Angeles, or Santa Monica offices. Our ideal candidate will have two to five years of broad experience and sophistication in employment law.
Responsibilities
- Case development
- Legal research and writing
- All aspects of discovery
- Witness interviews or investigations
- Brief writing
- Employment counseling
- Advising clients on employment policies and practices
- Statutory and regulatory compliance
- Employment and separation agreements
Requirements
- Two to five years of broad experience in employment law
- Strong academic credentials
- Exceptional communication and legal writing skills
- A high level of motivation and initiative
- Willingness to help train and mentor junior associates
- A strong work ethic
- Current admittance to the California bar required
Qualifications
- Experience in case development, legal research and writing, all aspects of discovery, witness interviews or investigations, and brief writing
- Strong set of employment counseling skills, with experience and developing expertise in advising clients on employment policies and practices, statutory and regulatory compliance, and employment and separation agreements

Pay
The expected annual pay range for this position is $235,000-$365,000. Please note that final offer amount will be dependent on geographic location, applicable experience and skillset of the candidate.
