ITAM Analyst III Information Management / Software Asset Management Position Overview We are seeking an experienced ITAM Analyst III with strong Software Asset Management (SAM) experience to support enterprise technology asset management initiatives. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of ITAM/SAM experience, hands-on experience with Flexera, strong analytical and critical-thinking skills, and excellent communication abilities. This role focuses on managing and improving software asset data, licensing, entitlements, renewals, compliance, vendor information, reporting, and lifecycle governance. The position is remote and requires strong collaboration across technical, business, procurement, finance, security, legal, and vendor teams. Key Responsibilities Manage software assets across the complete lifecycle, including intake, request, approval, procurement, assignment, renewal, reclamation, retirement, and compliance. Maintain accurate records for licenses, subscriptions, entitlements, contracts, renewals, vendors, application owners, usage, and compliance status. Perform software license reconciliation, entitlement validation, normalization, usage analysis, and compliance reviews. Analyze software data to identify unused licenses, duplicate applications, renewal risks, data gaps, compliance issues, shadow IT, and cost-optimization opportunities. Support software requests and fulfillment by validating entitlement availability, licensing requirements, approvals, ownership, compliance restrictions, and provisioning readiness. Support software audits, true-ups, evidence gathering, exception tracking, and SLA health checks. Develop and distribute software inventory, compliance, renewal, usage, lifecycle, vendor performance, and trend reports. Identify opportunities for license reclamation, reuse, consolidation, rationalization, retirement, and cost optimization. Support vendor governance activities, including renewal tracking, contract validation, billing reviews, SLA reviews, and vendor performance reporting. Improve CMDB alignment, software catalog accuracy, asset data quality, audit readiness, and lifecycle governance. Collaborate with ITAM, Procurement, Finance, Security, Legal, Endpoint, Support, Product, application owners, and vendors to resolve asset-management issues. Identify process gaps and recommend improvements that reduce manual work, improve data quality, increase automation, and strengthen license governance. Support high-risk software and vendor reviews by validating licensing compliance, renewal readiness, ownership, usage, security status, and shadow IT exposure. Maintain SOPs, knowledge articles, process documentation, software request guides, reporting documentation, and training materials. Provide internal customer support for software-related requests, incidents, escalations, and inquiries. Technology & Continuous Improvement Stay current with SAM platforms, Flexera, SaaS management tools, software discovery, software metering, CMDB practices, automation, AI-enabled tools, reporting dashboards, and software governance best practices. Identify opportunities to streamline software requests, approvals, renewals, reclamation, reporting, compliance, and vendor governance. Support improvements to Jira, ITSM platforms, CMDBs, reporting dashboards, software discovery tools, and SaaS management platforms. Contribute to continuous improvement through process documentation, knowledge sharing, automation, and operational best practices. Required Qualifications 5 7+ years of experience in ITAM, Software Asset Management, software licensing, SaaS administration, renewal coordination, entitlement tracking, procurement coordination, vendor management, or related technology operations. Strong experience with Flexera and software asset management processes. Experience managing software records across the full lifecycle. Strong knowledge of software licensing, subscriptions, entitlements, renewals, contracts, compliance, and vendor management. Experience with license reconciliation, usage analysis, reclamation, compliance, audits, and optimization. Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and critical-thinking skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders across multiple business functions. Experience with CMDB, ITSM, reporting tools, SaaS management, or software discovery platforms is preferred. Ability to manage competing priorities, work independently, identify risks, and follow through on corrective actions. Experience with AI-enabled automation, workflow orchestration, or emerging technology within ITAM or operational environments is a plus.
