Inventory Systems Administrator

About the Role

We have an exciting opportunity at the Department of State! The Inventory Systems Administrator is responsible for all inventory management systems supporting the hybrid VPC and global IT infrastructure for the customer.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure provision of all necessary inventory systems and administration of the warehouse and its contents.
  • Administer a Government-approved COTS inventory management software capable of real-time inventory levels, shipping status, automatic packing/inventory lists, and achieving efficiencies.
  • Ensure the system provides the appropriate information required by the Integrated Logistics Management System (ILMS).
  • Administer a secure, web-based dashboard from which customers can access the inventory system, with software capable of searching/sorting by order number, item, type, and internal reference number.
  • Upgrade and customize the inventory system hosted on the DoS Intranet website as directed by the customer.
  • Produce all warehouse standard reports, as well as ad hoc reports, in the format and media requested by the customer using data extracted from the inventory system on a bi-weekly basis.
  • Ensure annual physical inventory information is uploaded to the inventory management system and report on and resolve any system discrepancies.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of relevant experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in IT or a related field.
  • Secret Security Clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

  • CompTIA Security+ Certification.

Physical Requirements

  • Sitting for long periods.
  • Standing for long periods.
  • Ambulate throughout an office and between several buildings.
  • Stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl as required.
  • Repeatedly lift and carry weight up to 40 pounds.
  • Travel by land or air transportation (25% of the time).
