About the role
The Inventory Administrator serves to ensure effective supply chain management and customer satisfaction by maintaining accurate inventory records and processing inventory related transactions.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities
- Prepares documents for and processes the receiving all VSSI and external suppliers for all VSI branches.
- Maintains Purchase Order information for all VSSI and external suppliers.
- Ensures the smooth movement of materials in the company’s inventory management system (MCMS), including inventory and the preparation of part numbers, product codes, and freight codes.
- Distributes shipping related documents to the appropriate branches.
- Compiles information from shipping records and monitors materials in transit, communicating to branches as necessary.
- Compiles inventory records for scanning
Required Skills/Abilities
- Data management skills: the ability to use statistical analysis tools as well as the ability to interpret and communicate the results of the analysis.
- Good analytical skills to interpret data and make informed decisions.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Strong understanding of supply chain processes and industry trends.
- A continuous improvement mindset: identifying and implementing ways to continuously improve reliability.
Education and Experience
A High School Diploma as well as two years’ experience in an inventory management-related position are required. Metals industry experience is desired.
