Human Services Case Manager. Bilingual English/Spanish Required

About the role

The Oregon Department of Human Services is seeking a bilingual Human Services Case Manager to support families transitioning into independence through collaboration and partnership within the agency and the community.

Responsibilities

• Provide person-centered, strength-based practice to assist families in achieving independence.
• Engage families in various ways including individual and family assessment, goal setting, and collaboration with other state agencies and community organizations.
• Determine eligibility for programs as necessary.
• Negotiate coaching plans with adults in the home, promoting employment readiness and motivating them towards employment.
• Evaluate employability readiness and provide meaningful provider referrals.
• Aid in crisis and safety planning for individuals experiencing domestic violence.
• Complete program eligibility and issue grant payments when appropriate.
• Support resources and services within the community.

Requirements

• A valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record are required.
• Three years of human services related experience, or an Associate's degree in a Behavioral Science, Social Science, or closely related field with two years of experience, or a Bachelor's degree in any field with one year of experience, or a Bachelor's degree in a Behavioral Science, Social Science, or closely related field.

• Strong time management, organization, and prioritization skills.
• Effective communication skills, including the ability to explain technical information to those unfamiliar with the subject.

Qualifications
