HR Payroll Manager

About the role

The HR/Payroll Manager assumes total responsibility for the HR/Payroll Department and works closely with the Director of HR and Payroll. They are responsible for all personnel benefits information including health, dental and workers compensation cases, and for the interpretation and implementation of facility policy and procedure governing employee benefits and payroll issues.

Responsibilities

• Input data from compiled worksheet to computer to generate weekly payroll
• Discuss and correct any errors or concerns regarding payroll on a weekly basis
• Maintain time clock and payroll records as required by law
• Process any changes that take place in payroll
• Maintain OSHA logs
• Familiar with all aspects of employee benefits including health and insurance benefits
• Familiar with and able to explain the employee handbook
• Knowledge of workers compensation process
• Respond to any written or verbal request for past or present employment history
• Initiate employee-desired benefits within pre-designed benefit package
• Oversee enrollments, changes, terminations and ensure proper payroll deductions are processed through Paycor payroll system
• Manage new hire on-boarding, pre-employment checks and coordinate with the SDC nurse for orientation
• Process all aspects of employee information from initial hire to termination including data entry into payroll, timekeeping and benefits to ensure accurate record keeping
• Implement any corporate directives regarding new changes in processing payroll, health and life insurance, 401(k) or other programs
• Work with the Staff Development Coordinator on orientation of new employees
• Be familiar with all aspects of computer systems
• Attend all facility meetings that are assigned – fire and safety meetings
• Perform all required documentation to comply with State and Federal guidelines
• Assist with the implementation of administrative policies governing payroll and benefit programs
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Minimum two years of related HR/Payroll experience in long-term care preferred
• High School graduate or equivalent
• Displays exceptional interpersonal and communication skills with particular attention to confidentiality
