HR/ Payroll Manager

Position Summary

Our client, a growing construction company, is seeking an experienced Human Resources & Payroll Manager to oversee all HR and payroll functions. This highly visible role is responsible for payroll administration, employee relations, benefits, compliance, onboarding, and HR operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Process accurate weekly payroll for approximately 38 employees, including deductions, garnishments, reimbursements, and payroll updates
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll and employment regulations
• Support payroll system administration and ongoing technology initiatives, including Miter Payroll and Sage Intacct
• Manage employee onboarding, personnel records, I-9 compliance, and HR documentation
• Administer employee benefits, including enrollments, changes, and terminations, while serving as the liaison with benefit providers
• Act as the primary HR contact for employee questions, policy guidance, and employee relations matters
• Maintain HR compliance, support performance documentation, and assist with other HR initiatives as needed

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Accounting, or a related field preferred
• 5–10 years of progressive HR and payroll experience
• Construction industry experience strongly preferred
• Strong knowledge of payroll processing, employment law, HR compliance, benefits administration, and employee relations
• Experience with Sage Intacct, Foundation Software, Miter Payroll, or similar payroll/accounting systems
• HR or Payroll certification (SHRM-CP, PHR, CPP, FPC, etc.) is a plus
• Bilingual in English and Spanish is highly preferred
