Home Care Aide - 6 Months Experience Required

About the role

Personal Care Aides provide essential in-home care services, primarily during weekends, supporting clients with daily living activities and basic personal care needs.

Responsibilities

• Follow individualized care plans and complete daily tasks via EVV or electronic timesheets.
• Assist with personal hygiene, grooming, ambulation, meal preparation (including special diets), feeding, and the use of mobility equipment.
• Maintain a safe, clean environment and adhere to infection control and safety protocols.
• Encourage clients' self-help and independence while respecting their privacy and limitations.
• Notify supervisors of any changes in client condition, safety concerns, or potential abuse or neglect.
• Support secondary tasks such as laundry, cleaning, and grocery shopping as needed.
• Provide quality care within the scope of practice, avoid tasks not outlined in the care plan, and seek guidance when necessary.

Qualifications & Skills

• High school diploma or ability to read/write preferred.
• At least 6 months of verifiable caregiving experience.
• Must be 18 years or older.
• Ability to perform personal care, assist with transfers, and utilize mobility aids.
• Strong understanding of safety, infection control, and confidentiality protocols.

Accountability & Supervision

Reports to the Home Care Manager or designated staff regarding client care and staffing issues, maintaining professionalism and adherence to policies.
