Healthcare Tech (CNA) - Float Staff

About the role

Supports licensed nursing staff under RN supervision by performing personal care, hygiene activities, and patient monitoring. Acts as a communication liaison with departments, visitors, patients, and staff, serving as a public relations representative for the unit.

Responsibilities

• Maintains unit supplies, documents patient data, and demonstrates competency in vital signs, blood glucose, and intake/output measurement
• Assists with activities of daily living, prepares patients for transport, and provides direct care including hygiene, feeding, and room tidying
• Removes IV lines, foley catheters, and manages patient safety through bedside care and remote monitoring via Video Remote Sitter (VRS)
• Coordinates troubleshooting VRS issues and collaborates with the nursing team to ensure patient safety

Qualifications & Skills

• High school diploma or GED
• At least one semester of nursing clinical experience
• Recent CNA experience or completion of CNA coursework
• CPR/BLS certification within 30 days
• Relevant medical or military training is advantageous
• Strong communication, teamwork, and technical skills are essential
