Join the Colorado School of Public Health as the Graphic Designer and Marketing Coordinator (Open Rank Communications Senior – Principal Professional). This position is a key member of the school’s Central Administration, responsible for developing multi-channel marketing efforts and managing messaging for both internal and external audiences, with a focus on prospective student marketing.

About the Role

This role focuses on digital recruitment of new students using traditional and new media, including electronic and print advertising, event marketing, website content management, integrated search engine optimization (SEO), and direct marketing (mail, email, video, web, printed/digital brochures, promotional giveaways, social media, and more). The position requires the ability to analyze and evaluate tactics and metrics.

This is a full-time (1.0 FTE) hybrid position located on the CU Anschutz Campus in Aurora, CO, with an expectation to work on-site three days per week. The role reports to the Director of Communications and Marketing.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate content development for school-level marketing communications, including website and social media.
  • Work closely with the Director and campus/department leads to develop an electronic viewbook and printed materials for departments, centers, programs, and the Office of Academic & Student Affairs.
  • Assist with updates to the school directory, event calendar, website homepage, and newsroom.
  • Create engaging graphics, layouts, and design aesthetics to support ColoradoSPH communication and marketing efforts.
  • Design and manage ColoradoSPH branded assets, including branded templates (PowerPoint, letterhead, event flyers, email templates and signatures, business cards, etc.).
  • Drive prospective student acquisition and growth through campaign marketing and performance marketing.
  • Collaborate with the team to identify, foster, track, and analyze enrollment pipelines with undergraduate institutions in the state and region.
  • Design content for student recruitment marketing, email, ad copy, and social media.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

  • Senior Professional:
    • A bachelor’s degree in marketing, journalism, public relations, communications, business administration, business, or a directly related field from an accredited institution.
    • Two (2) years of professional-level experience with marketing/content development, social media, web/digital marketing, and/or multi-channel marketing campaigns.
    • Advanced knowledge of social media marketing.
  • Principal Professional:
    • A bachelor’s degree in marketing, journalism, public relations, communications, business administration, business, or a directly related field from an accredited institution.
    • Three (3) years of professional-level experience with marketing/content development, social media, web/digital marketing, and/or multi-channel marketing campaigns.
    • Advanced knowledge of social media marketing.

Substitution: A combination of education and related technical/military/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for the bachelor’s degree on a year-for-year basis.

Preferred Qualifications

  • A master’s degree in marketing, journalism, public relations, communications, business administration, or a directly related field from an accredited institution.
  • Prospective student marketing experience in a university, higher education, and/or graduate program.
  • Photography experience/skills and editing.
  • Experience in design for digital marketing, with the ability to create simple ads, brochures, and videos in-house.
  • Video production experience.

Skills

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both on the phone and in person.
  • Strong command of the English language, including grammar, spelling, punctuation, formats, proofreading, and syntax.
  • Ability to track and measure success through analytics and other metrics.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize multiple projects while meeting deadlines.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees at all levels.
  • Ability to learn new digital, social media, and software applications quickly and adapt to changing technological environments.
  • Outstanding creativity, with a flair for marketing, design, and content editing.
  • Demonstrated experience fostering a community that values diverse backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives.

Pay

The starting target salary range for this position is:

  • Senior Professional: $60,000 - $69,000 (1.0 FTE)
  • Principal Professional: $63,000 - $79,000 (1.0 FTE)
  • This position may be eligible for overtime compensation depending on the level. Total compensation includes generous leave, health plans, and retirement contributions.
